Inability to work/exemption from contributions
You can notify us of an inability to work using the “Notification of inability to work” form.
What does inability to work mean for your employees?
An inability to work exists when an employee is not able to work or is only partially able to work for health reasons – for example, because of illness or an accident.
A distinction is made between:
Full inability to work: your employee is unable to work at all.
Partial inability to work: work performance is limited but still possible in some cases.
Important for occupational benefits
Exemption from contributions
If the inability to work lasts for a considerable period, exemption from contributions can be requested in accordance with the occupational benefits plan.
This means:
GEMINI takes over the financing of contributions for the pension scheme as soon as the waiting period specified in the occupational benefits plan has been exceeded.
Waiting period
The waiting period is the time between the start of the inability to work and the start of GEMINI’s obligation to pay benefits. During this period, as the employer, you will continue to pay the contributions to the pension fund. After the waiting period has expired, GEMINI will take over the contributions. The waiting period is defined in the occupational benefits plan.
What you need to do
Please notify us of the inability to work upon expiry of the waiting period specified in the occupational benefits plan at the latest using the “Notification of inability to work” form.
Please attach all necessary documents, such as medical certificates, daily allowance statements, etc., so that we can review the claim.
Please send us the form signed by the member by post.
