Option plans

With option plans, your members can decide for themselves whether they want to make higher or lower savings contributions to the pension fund.

As an employer, you specify in the occupational benefits plan whether your employees can choose between different option plans. These give your employees the option to make higher or lower savings contributions, depending on their personal situation.

Good to know

  • Your employees can usually choose between three option plans: for example, Mini, Midi and Maxi. A maximum of three option plans are possible per group of persons.

  • It is possible to change plan when joining the pension fund or at the start of the year.

  • The employer’s contribution rate is equal to the employee’s contribution rate in every option plan.

  • The retirement credits in the option plan with the lowest contribution rates must amount to at least 2/3 of the retirement credits of the plan with the highest contribution rates.

  • Additional retirement credits are fully tax-deductible.
