Four questions for Karlo Barac

Karlo Barac has been Head of Sales at the GEMINI Collective Foundation since July 2025. Leading a team of seven, he is responsible for acquiring new clients and further developing the organisation’s sales activities.

What has impressed you most during your first year as Head of Sales at the GEMINI Collective Foundation?

What has stood out to me most is the sales team. From day one, I have been struck by their commitment and professionalism in addressing the needs of our clients and partners.

Our team develops carefully considered, practical solutions that are consistently focused on the needs and interests of our clients and insured members.

Where do you currently see the greatest opportunities for our Collective Foundation in attracting new affiliated employee benefits units?

I believe our greatest opportunity lies in our distinctive structure. Each affiliated employee benefits unit within our Collective Foundation operates much like an employer’s own pension fund. This enables our clients to customise their employee benefits provision to their specific requirements while adhering to the statutory regulations.

They play an active role in shaping key aspects of their pension fund, including the employee benefits plan, the investment strategy and the interest credited to savings capital. At a time when companies increasingly want to take responsibility and make their own decisions, this model is particularly well suited to the current environment.

What do you think companies expect from a collective foundation today?

These expectations have remained essentially unchanged. Companies continue to value security and reliability above all else. The key requirement is a pension fund that can be relied upon when benefits are due. Employees need to be well protected in the event of disability, death or retirement, and they must receive the benefits to which they are entitled. These benefits must be clearly defined and easy to understand. Fair and transparent terms are equally important.

Finally, what are you most looking forward to in the months ahead?

I am very pleased that we are moving into our new offices in July. I am confident that the new environment will further strengthen our team spirit. Together, we can continue to develop the GEMINI Collective Foundation with energy, commitment and a shared sense of purpose.
