Annual Report 2025

Four questions for René Zehnder

René Zehnder has been an actuary at the GEMINI Collective Foundation since August 2025. In this role, he is responsible for assessing the Foundation’s financial position and ensuring its long-term stability. He also advises the Management Board and the Foundation Board on strategic and financial matters.

What has impressed you most during your first year as an actuary at the GEMINI Collective Foundation?

What stands out most to me is the consistent implementation of individual employee provision solutions. Both the investment strategy and the benefits structure are designed to meet the specific requirements of each employee benefits unit.

As an actuary, I am particularly interested in how this model can be represented from an actuarial perspective.

Where do you currently see the greatest opportunities for our Collective Foundation in the competition to attract new affiliated employee benefits units?

I believe our greatest strength lies in combining personalisation with stability.

Many companies today are no longer looking for a standard solution, but for an employee benefits scheme that is tailored to their particular structure. This is exactly where GEMINI excels, with flexible solutions in terms of both investment and benefits provision.

What do you think companies expect from a collective foundation today?

Companies value transparency and professionalism above all. They want a clear understanding of how their employee benefits provision works and the assurance that it is being managed responsibly with a long-term perspective.

Finally, what are you most looking forward to in the months ahead?

I was involved in setting up the GEMINI Collective Foundation back in the 1990s. It is therefore all the more gratifying to be contributing once again to GEMINI’s reorganisation as part of the insourcing project.
